New York sushi restaurant to open 1st Florida location in Miami beach

New York-based Bondi Sushi is set to debut its first Florida location in Miami beach on May 11.

There are six locations in New York City. Now owners David Hess, Aiden Carty and Justin Hauser are expanding into the South Florida market, with additional Miami locations in Midtown and Brickell opening in the coming months.

Bondi’s largest store to date, the 1,650-square foor space at 959 West Avenue is anchored by a 24-seat, maple back sushi bar with wood walls and paneling with velvet details. The 400-square foot, 16-seat patio will feature custom banquette seating, a nod to the gtoup’s recent cocktail bar opening in New York, Shinji’s.

The South Beach location’s exclusive offerings will include the Luxe Box to-go set featuring eight pieces of nigiri with striped jack, chutoro with kizami wasabi and caviar, king salmon and Chirashi Salad with salmon.

The cocktail menu will be curated by Bondi’s sister concepts, Michelin-award willing omakase restaurant Noda and cocktail bar Shinji’s.
